HR SKILLS FOR NON-HR PROFESSIONALS WORKSHOP

Focus on People

The importance of Human Resources (HR) in an organisation as a means of ensuring sustainable growth cannot be overemphasized, as it is the fundamental strength upon which people, strategies, processes and operations are based.

Not every manager is a HR Manager, but every manager manages HR. Managers and Supervisors are expected to deal with some HR issues within their departments such as annual leave, absenteeism, discipline & grievance handling, handling underperformance, communicating company policies and promotions.

However, most of the time these managers and supervisors do not have the expertise to deal with the employees’ related issues they face, yet they are expected to make decisions that are both effective and legal. This is a minefield of potential vulnerability. For the uninformed, it's a recipe for disaster.

This foundational course provides understanding and exposure of today’s human resource practices in the changing business environment. Participants will explore the various functions and responsibilities, essential elements/factors, knowledge needed, the challenges and the implications in managing people to meet organization goals.
